Some people love working from home, and can’t imagine anything better than a day with their laptop clad in pajama pants. Others miss the structure and the casual chats with coworkers that happen in their office hallways. But whether you love it or hate it, the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus is likely to make working from home increasingly common, at least for the next few months.
Of course, not every job lends itself to this kind of flexibility. But for those of us who can do it, working from home can help decrease the overall exposure of the population to the virus, which epidemiologists say reduces the risk for those most vulnerable: older adults and people with compromised immune systems.

As COVID19 continues to be a global health crisis, don't forget to take care of your mental health. In a time of uncertainty and isolation, there are steps you can take to maintain your mental health while working remotely. Fast Company has a few ideas to get you started. Tips range from acknowledging the impact to recognizing your needs to streamlining work and more.
One of the easiest and most impactful thing you can do is create a routine. We've been a remote company at Yocum Technology Group since our beginnings, so we know a little about working remotely and how to make it successful. The best advice we have for anyone just getting started with remote work is: have a routine. Just as you have your normal routine when you work in an office, it's important to establish your "work from home" routine. It can be something that simulates your commute and gets you into the "workspace mindset". Instead of a commute, maybe treat yourself, or doggo, to a walk to start your work day. End your day with a walk as well. This establishes a clear delineation between your "home life" and your "work life", even if your "office" is in a spare bedroom.
"For the past several years, remote work has been high on the list of coveted employee benefits. In fact, as Fast Company previously reported, 99% of respondents to a 2019 Buffer survey want to work remotely at least part of the time for the rest of their careers, and 67% of respondents to a survey by Staples would quit if their workplace became less flexible."
